In a world of increasing uncertainty, turbulence, high risk, extreme political division, anxiety, change, technological advances that threaten careers, concentration of power, elevated inflation, etc., people everywhere are seeking something in their lives that is more permanent. We see it in:
1. The way people invest. Many are seeking stable, certain income or growth.
2. Longevity and appearance. How can we stay on this earth and in our careers in our current health (and appearance), much longer?
3. Family: How do we keep families and relationships together, thriving, forever?
4. Prices: We have witnessed how the uncertainty of rising prices damages and gives rise to those seeking power via promising pricing permanence.
The reality of life is that almost nothing is permanent or forever. On the anniversary of 9/11, we were reminded how an entire block of a major city can be destroyed in a matter of hours. The life of almost everything on earth has a beginning, middle and end.
There is one thing we can buy that fuels a sense of permanence, possibly more so than anything: a home. The for-profit agenda-driven narratives that belittle this always only speak to the dollars-and-cents aspects about owning versus renting. We know otherwise. A home is a hug at the end of a tough day, how it provides comfort, familiarity and thousands of other emotional value-adds, never mentioned by any of these so-called experts. Invaluable and Priceless! Don't just focus on the cost of owning a home, focus on the comfort derived from owning a home. Both matter.
