Safe-Havens

Homes are the canvas for a life, an oasis at the end of a long day in the concrete jungle or wherever you work, where family and friends gather, where you nest with loved ones, watch a show on TV, weather snowstorms, rain, sleep, eat, read, etc. We spend about 87-90% of our lives indoors, much of that spent at home. While I speak of the obvious and probably more important aspects of home, the one too many focus on is the financial side, and who can blame them when homes cost so much these days? In recent months and years, we have seen "experts" decry the devaluing of homes bought at the peak buying frenzy during the Covid years.

We learn best when looking in the rearview mirror, and today, for all the skeptics and naysayers about the evils of buying a home and "losing money" who proposed Gold and Crypto as financial safe-havens, I have one thing to ask: If Bitcoin has devalued by 50% in the past 9 months, and Gold is down over 24% in just 6 months, surely homes that have "plunged" in value by 5-10% over 3 years would still make homes a far better safe-haven? Also, you can't live in your gold bar or DogeCoin (down over 70% in a year....).
