Madison, Wisconsin

Today, I'm showcasing an area of the US that Compass has a great presence but may not get as much attention as the more obvious Florida, Texas, New York, California, etc locations we hear about frequently. It's time to learn more about the unique lifestyles and wonderful homes and Investments available in other markets I can serve and refer my clients to.

Madison, the State Capital of Wisconsin, and birth place of Georgia O'Keefe and Frank Lloyd Wright, is not only one of the best places to live in the Midwest, but it's also among the best cities to live in the U.S. with its incredible outdoor recreation, great food and brews, top-notch education, and more. U.S. News ranked Wisconsin's capital city third for the best quality of life in the U.S. in 2024. The city is sometimes described as The City of Four Lakes, comprising the four successive lakes of the Yahara River: Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa and Lake Kegonsa. Madison has 6,431 acres of park space, about 13.5% of the city's total area with extensive bike infrastructure, amongst the best anywhere. The Madison metro area's population is just over 674,500, with the median age of residents at a young 36.5 years old.

Madison, Wisconsin's economy is driven by a number of industries, including Biotechnology, Information technology, Healthcare, Advanced manufacturing, Agriculture (with outstanding, naturally fertile soil it is sometimes referred to as America's Dairyland), food, and beverage including many beer brewing companies as the area has been influenced by a big volume of German immigrants. The University of Wisconsin–Madison is also a major driver of Wisconsin's economy, contributing $30.8 billion annually to the state's economy. The university's research program, affiliate organizations, and startup companies are responsible for creating jobs and paying taxes. Madison is known for very high levels of education and is also the fastest growing city in Wisconsin.

Yes, the winters are snowy and cold, but if you love a cooler Summer, high's are around the low 80's most Summers.
