As the world evolves, so too does my language have to evolve. New words and uses for existing words emerge almost every year. For years I've preached the value of all things a professional delivers that cannot be found through a Google search (a Google search will not deliver the same quality of data, intelligence, insight or context) but now as A.I. infiltrates all our lives, this terminology has to evolve too. While Google's searchable content is quite reliably accurate (definitely not all of it!), A.I. is creating content that often is not.
Our world is witnessing the rapid, accelerated growth and spread of factually inaccurate, incomplete or downright false information, often merely opinions or words designed to fuel headlines, attention, engagement, clicks and likes. Sadly all of this works and has achieved great wealth and power for many of the purveyors of this societal curse. But because this email seeks to find an upside, I ask you to view this as possibly the greatest early Holiday Gift to all of us in the real estate sphere, professionally speaking of course!
While the flood of misleading and inaccurate 'facts' and 'opinions' grows, so too does the need for highly competent, specialized professionals who are very clued into their markets. Professional agents with specific non-searchable facts, data and insights and exposure will soar in the coming years as a frustrated and dejected consumer learns, often the hard way, that going it alone via a Youtube or A.I-generated lesson poses enormous risks of making big, costly mistakes.
So in the darkness and confusion of this information/misinformation A.I, trustworthy, verifiable data, insights and intelligence may be the real gold of this moment in history.
